What is Reiki?
Reiki is an energetic healing process. The word Reiki translates from its origins in Japanese as universal life force energy.
Ki or chi is life force energy and
Rei is spirit/universal consciousness/divine intelligence.
It is a gentle yet powerful form of energy healing that promotes balance, relaxation, and well-being on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. This healing modality involves the channelling of this universal energy through the practitioner’s hands to support the body's natural ability to heal itself. Reiki is non-invasive and can be experienced both in person and from a distance. It complements traditional medical or therapeutic treatments and can help reduce stress, ease pain, and support overall health.
Who is a Reiki practitioner?
While anyone can become a Reiki practitioner it is recommended to learn from those who are committed and most experienced. To become a Reiki I, II or III practitioner requires learning hand placements & symbols, and self-engaging practices. The training involves attunements in person from a teacher who honours the lineage of Reiki and embodies dedication to the practice.
I did my level 1 with Samantha Avery and had an impressive vision during my attunement. In this vision an older family member was handing me a ‘key’ while an intricate dark shape exuded a rainbow spectrum (like rays from a prism) in front of my closed eyes. This process involves 21 days of self-Reiki before offering to friends or family, This helped me take up meditation in a consistent and meaningful way.
My level II was with Joanna Tolley and within a week an energetic response occurred which continues during my clearings with clients. It sometimes feels like a little electric shock goes through me as it wants to ground down into Mother Earth.
Level III or Master level attunement was also with Joanna Tolley. The 4 weeks training and weekend retreat took place during a tumultuous time for me and allowed for a framework of support to ride these unsteady waves with calmness and strength.
I will be forever grateful for this training as it has opened realms and possibilities beyond the scope of my imagination. Joanna incorporated yoga sessions during our weekend which allowed us embody the learnings in a holistic way. Joanna’s words, during our ceremonies, felt like they were divinely channelled as if we were being fed fuel for the soul ✨
What is Reiki to me?
My Reiki practice has developed from a culmination of intuitive trainings and chakra education, self-healings and creative processes. It feels like surrendering to a magical frequency and it is one I deeply honour. It propels me to delve further into spirituality through meditation while pursuing various processes of becoming a clear channel.
Time and space are constructs that have fascinated and perplexed me for as long as I remember. Reiki stretches across our limited understandings of these in our 3D concepts as it works in the quantum realm through distant healings.
